About the Author
Kheir Al-Kodmany (Ph.D. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he teaches urban design and physical planning. Before joining the UIC faculty, Dr. Al-Kodmany worked designing projects for Chicago firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Dr. Al-Kodmany s recent research focuses on new approaches to planning and design through the use of powerful computerized visualization, including Geographic Information Systems, 3D modeling, Hypermedia and Virtual Reality. He has played a large role in developing GCUDV s Web-based mapping survey tools for effective participatory planning and design. He has established a strong publication record in the area of urban visualization and public participation, having ranked seventh in the number of publications of all U. S. planning faculty members over the five-year period, 1998-2003, according to a study conducted by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. Mir M. Ali (Ph.D., University of Waterloo) is a Professor Emeritus and former Structures Division Chairman in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he teaches Structures courses. Prior to joining UIUC, he taught a Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and worked as a structural engineer at Sargent & Lundy, Chicago, IL; Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, Chicago, IL; Albery, Pullerits, Dickson & Associates, Ontario, Canada; and B. H. Martin Consultants Ltd, Ontario, Canada. He is the author, co-author or editor of five books in his field: Architecture of Tall Buildings (Principal Editor, McGraw-Hill, 1995), Bangladesh Floods: Views From Home and Abroad (Co-editor, University Press Limited, Bangladesh; 1998), Art of the Skyscraper: The Genius of Fazlur Khan (Author, Rizzoli International Publications; 2001), Catalyst for Skyscraper Revolution: Lynn S. The book is for preparing the interview

This book is to prepare the interview for the employer who recruit a SAP Basis Administrator or the candidate. In my opinion, this book is not enough for SAP Basis Certification exam preparation. Buy this book before the interview, but not the certification exam.

good reference to help you land a SAP Basis job

There are many people who would like these books to go away - they are revealing so called "secrets" in the industry which insiders don't want just anyone to have access to. Especially SAP Basis and SAP Security topics which are really quite simple. Basis and Security people are eager to slam this book because it is so useful.

It has only what you need: transaction code listings, important tables, and important default settings.

The book also includes dozens of real world problems that are encountered.

So the issue is not that the book is worthless. It has value.

It is not, however a replacement for training courses or real experience on projects.

Many people would have you believe that you cannot break into SAP by reading a book - but this is as close as you can get to learning just what you need to know to get the job, and not wasting thousands on training.

nothing new

I bought this book for the DVD. It is not worth it. I expected the DVD would have the EEG associated with the video. It does not. It has the video but part of the EEG is in the book. So, you suppose to view the video and look at the EEG in the book. I am not sure how helpful that is if you try to learn more about video correlation with actual events.

the video link does not work. called amazon and wasted over 45 minutes. the amazon help person had no clue . At the end he said that you should not have bought it to begin with and I should have read the "bad reviews" about it.
He said that the best option is to get your money back.

This book is a bad ripoff of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest Series by Amanda M. Lee. Even though the characters are a carbon copy of the originals, the main difference is this book isn't as well written and doesn't contain the humor or snark that the original. It's disappointing that an author has to ripoff another author instead of coming up with original characters.
