Can you say doormat?

I like Ms Jolie's writing she does weave a good story. However how many Black women would take the crap the Hero is giving the heroine? Not the ones I know. We are smart beautiful women and if the man I loved told me all he wanted from me was a booty call then I'm gone. I know he's hurt and he's' grieving because his dad is dead and he found out that his life is not what he thought but if you tell me NUMEROUS times that he couldn't be with me and he didn't love me and told me to leave every other page I'm GONE. How many times does she have to apologize and beg for his love? Can you say doormat? I put this book down a few times cause I was offended. I know it's a book but I know it's not real life. The Heroine was working my last nerve with all her ANGST please give me a break!!! . The first book in the series was delightful it was really good these last two books bored me. Everyone in the story from friends to family told her stop running and fight for his love.?? Why?? Ok she left you without a reason , ok I would be hurt also but real ADULTS forgive!!!! It's just too much nonsense and too long. Hopefully whomever is left will have a better story

Swept me away!

Claire belongs to her 'own' wolf pack. The pack is formed by Jason, Forrest, Adam, Blake and Claire. Claire didn't really fit in at first because she isn't a boy, but after following Jason around like a shadow the boys took her in anyway. Jason is the brother she never had and even though Adam and Blake are also gorgeous it is Forrest who has stolen her heart. Even as a little kid she loved him and she never stopped. On her 18th birthday Claire and Forrest finally give in to their feelings for each other, not planning on having their loving hearts being torn apart.
Forrest is not a player. He is a one woman kind of guy. Jason made him promise to not pursue Claire until she was at least seventeen years old. He made good on his promise. Claire is the only one he ever loved and the only one he will ever love again. He just has to be willing to open his heart.
Being a young and insecure teenager Claire was being 'told' she was not good enough for Forrest or for either of the other boys. In the end she would be nothing more than the daughter of the housekeeper. Now she's a successful singer and back at Martha's Vineyard. This time she is in it for the long run.
I absolutely loved this book. Couldn't put it down and couldn't read fast enough. Every chapter starts with a little quote. The quote that stuck with me the most was:
"Every heart sings a song incomplete, until another heart whispers back".
This really brought tears to my eyes because this is exactly what true love means. Mika Jolie brought a lot of passion into writing this story. You can feel it in every line. She made me cry, laugh and had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't stop reading. I'm a new fan and I will be following this writer and every new story she writes.
Tattooed Hearts is the third book of the Martha's Vineyard series but each can be read as a standalone.

Tattooed Hearts stole my heart!

Forrest and Claire had grown up childhood friends in the Martha’s Vineyard area. Claire was an only child but was surrounded by a group of boys that were like brothers to her. Forrest was a friend of theirs so he was frequently in the mix. Claire had always been the tag along wanting to do whatever the boys were doing. As they got older Forrest was the one who held her attention.
Claire’s infatuation with Forrest only grew into something stronger as she got older. As much as Forrest may have wanted to act on his feelings he was still three years older than Claire and that wasn’t a possibility.
At 15 Claire told Forrest she loved him. Forrest said she was too young, it was a crush,
At 17 Claire gave Forrest her heart. Forrest said he’d wait for her to be 18.
At 18 Claire gave Forrest her body. Forrest and Claire became each other’s first.
They pledged their love for an infinity….even getting matching infinity tattoos symbolizing their commitment. The love they shared was explosive and passionate. The patience that Forrest showed waiting for Claire was amazing…you could feel it was forever.
But everything came crashing down for Claire when she overheard a conversation placing doubts about their relationship. That his parents would never allow their relationship to go anywhere. Devastated she ran, fleeing the island away from Forrest. Away for the love of her life! Away to a life of loneliness. To a life void of Forrest. Broken beyond repair.
Now after ten years she returns home to see if there is any chance of resurrecting the love that she and Forrest once had. In all these years her love for Forrest has never wavered. Her heart still belonged to him.
Would Claire’s return be a mistake? Is there still a place in Forrest’s heart for Claire or has he moved on?
